Clarence A. Overcash, Jr., 77, of Dillsburg, PA passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, PA. Born June 11, 1945 in Chambersburg, PA he was the son of the late Clarence A. Overcash, Sr. and Leola (Ellis) Overcash.
He attended James Buchanan Junior - Senior High School, graduating in 1962. During his lifetime he was self-employed as a roofer, truck driver, and a used furniture salesman. To his family and friends, he was known as “Jay” the man with a passion for all things junk, who was hoping for another big lottery win. He enjoyed caring for his chickens, hunting for a trophy buck, and sharing the next tall tale.
Clarence is survived by two children, Amy Overcash and her significant other Craig Waite of Mechanicsburg, PA; Mark Overcash and his wife Tracey of Chambersburg, PA; seven grandchildren, Kyle and Saxton Sturtz, Michelle, Katelyn, and Sarah Overcash all of Chambersburg, PA, Bret H. Overcash and Samson Kennedy of Middletown, PA; a daughter-in-law, Tami Overcash of Middletown, PA; a sister, Nancy Hoover and her husband John of Ft. Loudon, PA; and a brother, Arthur Overcash and his wife Sheila of Hagerstown, MD. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley M. (Cornman) Overcash; his son, Bret M. Overcash; and a sister, Anna ‘Sue’ (Overcash) Rotz.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 7, 2023 in Stenger Hill Cemetery, Ft. Loudon, PA. Arrangements are by SimpleChoice Cremation Services, Chambersburg.
