David R Myers

September 20, 1943 — July 16, 2024

Waynesboro PA

David “Dave” R. Myers of Waynesboro, PA went to his eternal home on Tuesday July 16, 2024. He is now at peace in the arms of Jesus Christ, his Savior. Born September 20, 1943 in Williamsport, MD, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Gladys (Stenger) Myers.

Dave married his childhood sweetheart, Brenda (Wolfe) Myers in January 1960. Together they raised two daughters; Diane Schuchman of Chambersburg, PA and Tina Freeman (Timothy) of Waynesboro, PA. In addition to his wife and children he is survived by three grandchildren, Jason Pensinger (Stefanie) of Shippensburg, PA , Jennifer Freeman  of Waynesboro, PA, and Benjamin Freeman of Waynesboro PA, three great-grandsons; Jason Jr., Jacob, and James and two sisters, Juanita Palmer of Hagerstown, MD and Donna Coble (Sonny) of Martinsburg, WV.

Dave was an excellent baseball pitcher in his teen years. Soon after he was married, he was given the opportunity to join the major leagues, but he kindly refused the offer, as he was more interested in raising a family. He spent most of his years working in supermarkets, but eventually retired from Grove Manufacturing as a shot cleaner.

He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He loved to mow the grass and took pride in his lawn. Dave and his wife spent many years playing music and singing in churches while playing the guitar and accordion.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to SimpleChoice Cremation Services Inc. of Chambersburg. Online condolences may be expressed at www.simple-choicecremation.com.
