John “Pete” Anthony
Mr. John E. Anthony, 63, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021, in WellSpan, Chambersburg Hospital.

Born March 18, 1958 in Monongahela, PA, he was the son of the late Malvern G., Sr. and Dolores Anthony.

Pete was a graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School in Monongahela, PA, Class of 1975.

Mr. Anthony was employed in sales, specializing in antique wares and collectibles.

Pete was an avid fisherman, enjoying trips to Lake Erie with his son and grandchildren. He enjoyed all things outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. Pete had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone when he was able.

He is survived by his wife, Penny S. Anthony of Chambersburg, PA, and children from his first marriage, son Bryan Anthony and wife Melissa of Charleroi, PA, and daughter Laura Burgess and husband Robert, of New Eagle, PA.; seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Siblings include brothers David Anthony of Monongahela, PA; James Anthony of Monongahela, PA; sisters Cynthia Jones of Denora, PA.; Goldie Byers and significant other Greg of Elizabeth, PA. He is also survived by stepchildren, Nathan Pipher and Jonathan Pipher, both of Waynesboro, PA.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Anthony was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Anthony; and three brothers, Malvern Anthony, Ralph Anthony, and Thomas Anthony.

There will be no public viewing, memorial services will be planned at a later date. Arrangements made by Simple Choice Cremation Services, Chambersburg, PA.
