Lewis A Layton Sr, 61, of Chambersburg, PA passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021. Born in Chambersburg Hospital, on November 21, 1959 to the late Leslie and Ellen Layton of Saint Thomas, PA.
Lewis worked as a HVAC technician for many years at Tyler Service Solutions in Frederick, MD. Lewis enjoyed music and played in multiple bands over the years varying from Jazz to Southern Gospel to various “Elvis” bands just to mention a few. He played numerous instruments and had a beautiful singing voice. Lewis also served as the sound guy for several bands over the years. He loved his country. He recently purchased a motorcycle which he had dreamed of doing for several years. Lewis was actively involved with his church, Calvary Baptist Church and many Sundays he could be heard playing and/or singing for the congregation. For 10+ years he drove a big tractor trailer all over the country.
He is survived by his wife, Shirine (Davallou) Layton, one brother and sister-in-law, Nelson and Patty Layton; one son and daughter-in-law, Lewis & Shelley Layton, two grandsons Tylor and Cody Layton, step grand-daughter, Breanne Heck, step-grandson, Fisher Heck ,two nephews, Trevor and Dylan Layton and two great-granddaughters, Hadaley and Aubry Layton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Janis Layton.
A “Celebration of Life” service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Scotland Campus Auditorium located at 3583 Scotland Road, Scotland, PA 17254. Family and friends are invited for a time of remembrance and fellowship after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to Calvary Baptist Church, 1165 Crottlestown Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
