Michael Pippenger, 58, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at the Meritus Medical Center Hagerstown. Born November 5, 1966 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late James M Pippenger and raised by his grandparents the late Harry F. and E. Theola Honodel.
Pip met his wife Lori and was married September 23, 1988.
Michael attended Waynesboro Area High School. He was involved with wrestling and football while he was there and graduated in 1985. Pips liked to watch his favorite football team Washington Redskins play. He also liked to go hunting, and fishing, and boating with his uncle in his free time. Also tying flies in teen years. He like to fix things that made him a “Jack of all Trades” around the house, cooking and making Lori breakfast in the morning. He also enjoyed helping his grandparents on the family farm and finally he liked hunting for mushrooms.
Michael worked for Cavetown Construction, Washington Township Maintance Dept., Wishard’s Garage in Zullinger as a licensed mechanic. Then in 2002 him and his wife moved to Chambersburg where he received training for diesel mechanic and CDL license. He then drove for DM Bowman Trucking, Dave George Transportation, A Duie Pyle Trucking and finally he was a commercial run driver for Ontime Express.
He survived by his wife of 36 years Lori Pippenger, his aunt Debby (John) Hampton, five cousins; Richard (Anne Marie) Ridge, FL, Rebecca (Ty) Smetzer, Waynesboro, John (Quinn) Hampton, Waynesboro, Jerry (Wendy) Hampton, Waynesboro, and Eric (Kelli) Hampton, Waynesboro.
Pip is preceded in death by his father James M Pippenger, his grandparents, Harry F. and E. Theola Honodel, his aunts; Peggy and Jack Rogers, Patsy and Tom Ridge, and his uncle; Robert, and JoAnn Honodel.
He was a very caring person and liked helping others. His family and friends are going to miss him dearly, along with his cats, Twister and Boo Boo.
